 An Etsy store that has absolutely captured my heart is Tavin.  Their selection of vintage wedding dresses is off-the-charts.  As you can see in these images the range of decade dressing spans from 1900s-inspired to the 1960s Chantilly lace bridal gown . UP AND COMING: Out of a Jane Austen Novel

Hey all you Pride and Prejudice fans, have I got a surprise for you come spring.  I've earmarked all  the lacy, lightweight, empire cut and flowing silhouettes in the collection for an editorial I know you'll just swoon over called, Out of a  Jane Austen Novel.  I've been wanting to do this shoot for some time and it wasn't till Shandra here walked through my studio doors I knew I had my Emma/Lizzie/ Marianne, the smart and back- boned heroine of any of Austen's early chick lit. What can we borrow from the late Regency Period where Austen set most of her work?  Well, it was the first time in a 500 year history women could really be comfortable and free of intricate corsetry and bustling (thanks Napoleon!). If you're looking for a costume inspired element for your look or wedding theme you won't want to miss this editorial.  We're bringing in some beautiful accessories and flowers for this post to compliment these light as air gowns.

DREAMING

My very talented friend Natalie Goodman used the beach as her inspiration for this stunning board.  Whenever I'm in a funk I tune into Natalie's blog, Enchanted Dream Weddings and Affairs where I always find a muse to rekindle the creativity in me.  For me this board is mostly about texture and climate through the use of color.  What can you add here?

FINDING WEDZU

Last week I did a post for Savvy Scoop Blog all about the new Wedzu phenomenon sweeping cyber space. What is Wedzu, you ask?  Wedzu is--as one commenter on Savvy Scoop put it--Etsy on wedding steroids. Imagine finding a spot online exclusively for weddings a little bit like Etsy with some of BHLDN's shabby-chic thrown in for good measure. Wedzu.com is a site just for brides featuring some of the best indie designers out there. What Etsy has midwifed, Wedzu may very well be raising as the wedding industry's wunderkind. If its handmade by an indie designer, chances are you'll find it on Wedzu. Check out their site and you'll find everything from invitations, bridesmaid dresses, veils and hats, fascinators, jewelry and wedding dresses. Yes, most of the same designers you'll find on Etsy have a spot on Wedzu as well but I did find a few on this site I'd never seen anywhere.
